Typhoon Vicente (aka Typhoon Ferdie)

Typhoon Vicente hammered Hong Kong last July leaving several flights delayed and hundreds of flights cancelled.  Unfortunately, I was one of the passengers of those cancelled flights.

We were supposed to depart Manila last July 24 and arrive Toronto at July 25 via Cathay Pacific with a 12 hour layoff in Hong Kong.  However, it was during this time that Typhoon Vicente doing its damage in Hong Kong.  We rebooked our tickets for a July 26 departure arriving on the 27.  Great work by Cathay Pacific.  However, on the day of our flight, Hong Kong International Airport was not yet ready to accept new passengers since some passengers departing Hong Kong were still at the airport.  We were again cancelled. Good thing that this time, Cathay Pacific rerouted us to Philippine Airlines (Manila-Vancouver) and Westjet (Vancouver-Toronto).  We thank God that finally, on the third try, we were able to confirm our flight.

    kamusta na kayo jan sa ontario.. c jho 'to sa forum.
    i just wanna ask about your experience with westjet.

    my connecting flight to sk from vancouver will be with westjet too.. i learned that the 1st baggage is normally free for domestic flights within canada..however i'm not too sure whether westjet will charge me for the 2nd baggage.. i'll be travelling with cathay pacific and i'm allowed to bring 2 luggages..

    As far as baggage is concerned, 2 check in and 2 hand carry per person pa din. Ang alam ko, as long as nasa isang itenerary ung Cathay Pacific at Wetjet flight, considered as international flight na cya. Basta bago ko lumabas ng arrival area, be sure to check in your baggages. May sarili silang counter dun.

    Ung plane ng westjet is parang sa Cebu Pacific na domestic flights. Pero may free food and drinks naman.

    hi can you please tell me if u guys were able to go out of the airport and what is whole process when u arrive ? do i get my luggage before preceding to the connecting flight coz my flight is also westjet but i have 8 hour stay at the airport .
